Ground and Earthworks Risk Review

A controlled, evidence-led review of supplied ground, earthworks and tender information. The purpose is to explain what the evidence means for cost, programme, method and commercial risk before work begins.

The formal report title is Ground Investigation and Earthworks Strategy Review.

What the review can cover

Scope agreed for each project
  • Supplied Site Investigation (SI) or Ground Investigation (GI) reports and supporting information
  • Topsoil, Made Ground, natural ground, rock and other material streams
  • Groundwater, seepage and working-condition risks
  • CBR, SPT, compaction and other test results where provided
  • Review of supplied contamination and material-management findings
  • Evidence-led reuse, import, export and disposal considerations
  • Supplied cut and fill information, without preparing or validating the model
  • Tender assumptions, clarification points, cost and programme risks

The Initial Scope Check considers the document set, project scale, apparent complexity and suitability for quotation. It does not provide technical advice.

What the review does not automatically include.

The purpose is to support decisions—not to replace the project’s designers, consultants, regulators, laboratories, contractors or waste-management providers.

  • Geotechnical, drainage, pavement, remediation or temporary-works design
  • New ground investigation, sampling, laboratory testing or certification
  • Preparation, measurement, audit or validation of a cut/fill model
  • Preparation of a formal WM3 waste classification, quantity modelling or disposal-facility selection
  • Regulatory submissions, representation, negotiation or assurance of approval
  • Remediation design, engineering certification or regulatory approval
  • A guarantee of material suitability, regulatory acceptance or construction performance

Advice is based on the agreed information supplied by the client and project team. Reports are prepared for the named client and agreed purpose. Third-party reliance or assignment requires Ground & Commercial Advisory’s written agreement. Continuing project support after report issue is separately instructed and charged.
